| Description: |
sunShield is a GUI that enables a user to configure ipfw, a packet filtering based firewall that sits in the kernel. Although it was designed to be as simple as possible, giving access to (almost) full potential of ipfw on a single pane requires some knowledge about firewall rules.
sunShield however implements some templates (Web, Telnet, SSH, FTP...) that allow a complete novice to get some basic security enabled. Of course, if you are a complete novice, you might wanna stick to the front-end developped by Apple, available in the Sharing pane of the System Preferences Application.
