Fireparse is a Perl script that emails a report of all packets that have been logged by the kernels ipchains or iptables packet filtering subsystems. The report includes source and destination ports, direction, logged packet count, matched rules, and fully resolved host names (if available). The report can be formatted as plain text or as a colored HTML table.
Fireparse also moves all packet filter entries from your syslog file into a second message file so that other syslog entries are more easily noticed and filtered. HTML output can also be sent to a dated file.
