Information forensics investigators Inforenz have been called in to try to solve the mystery of Diana Dors' missing millions. A Channel 4 documentary - Who Got Diana Dors' Millions? - which will be shown on Saturday, 13 September at 9.15pm, will reveal whether the cryptographers were able to break the code that conceals the star's secret fortune.
Immediately after the programme, the Inforenz website - www.inforenz.com - will feature a downloadable version of the cryptography software the Inforenz team used to tackle Diana Dors' secret. The Inforenz team will also be speaking about the code at COSAC, the international forum for information security professionals and business managers, in the week following the programme.
Before she died, Diana Dors - often thought of as the Marilyn Monroe of England - handed her son, Mark, a coded message telling him that it held the whereabouts of a hidden 2 million fortune, and that her husband, actor Alan Lake, had the "key" that would unravel the code.
But, tragically, just months after Diana Dors died of cancer, Alan Lake committed suicide, taking the secret of how to decipher Mark's code to his grave. In 20 years, Mark has got nowhere trying to solve his mystery: he has a code, the promise of millions, but no way to break it. Who Got Diana Dors' Millions? follows Mark in an attempt to uncover the hidden fortune left to him by his mother.
Mark's quest into his mother's past takes him on an extraordinary journey into a world of ancient codes, gangsters, Freemasons, and eccentric solitary collectors. Can Inforenz crack the code and help unlock the 20-year-old secret? Find out on Saturday, 13 September at 9.15pm on Channel 4.
